Prayer Shawl MinistryWe have a group of people from St. Stephens who meet on the third Friday of the month to knit prayer shawls. We also sew a crocheted cross on each shawl. These shawls are blessed at a service of worship, and then distributed to people who are ill. These prayer shawls have gone to people in our parish, to others in the city, to people in different parts of Canada, and, at least two, have gone to Great Britain. We have received several cards and verbal expressions of thank you for the prayer shawls. We always welcome more people to help make shawls. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact me. Occasionally we receive donations of yarn (There are certain requirements for the type of yarn we use.) or money to purchase more yarn to make shawls. The people who have knit these shawls have purchased the yarn themselves. So, if we receive donations, it is very much appreciated. If you go to The Prayer Shawl Ministry Home Page you will find all sorts of information about prayer shawls. There are prayers and stories and patterns just everything of interest Betty Mitchell
